There were Akron residents on the Titanic when it sank.
True - When the Titanic sank in 1912, there were 9 people on board who lived in Akron. Eight - survived. The survivors were: Mrs. Emily Richards of Stiner Street and her two sons William and George, Mrs. Addie Wells of Archer Street and her children Joan and Ralph, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hocking and her daughter Nellie. George Hocking, Elizabeth's son did not survive.
